More than just a sequence of technical talks, the meetup was a night of exchange,
connection, and learning. One of those gatherings that reminds us that technology is not made
only of tools, frameworks, and programming languages, but also of people willing to share
knowledge and grow together.

The agenda brought topics that are closely connected to the current moment of the Java ecosystem
and the technology market.

MCP in the Java world

Leonardo Segala opened the night by talking about MCP in the Java world,
sharing a perspective on how the integration between artificial intelligence, services, and applications
can follow new paths through better-defined standards.

In a scenario where AI is no longer just a trend and has become part of the real architecture
of products, this kind of conversation becomes increasingly necessary.

The importance of software quality

Next, Wagner Pequeno gave a talk about the role of the
Test Analyst, reinforcing something that is often forgotten in the rush to deliver:
quality matters.

Testing is not only about finding defects. It is also about helping the team build more reliable,
safer, and more production-ready products.

Productivity with JBang

After that, we had Sebastião Gazolla presenting the use of
JBang for creating scripts with Java.

A practical, simple, and very useful approach for those who want to gain productivity in their daily work,
solve problems quickly, and explore Java beyond the traditional format of large applications.

They were different topics, but connected by the same thread: the evolution of those who build software
comes from curiosity, practice, collaboration, and contact with people facing similar challenges.

The most special moment of the night

One of the most special moments of the night, however, was not exactly part of the agenda.

During the meetup, we had the presence of a child, around 10 or 11 years old, who interacted a lot,
paid close attention to the conversations, and showed genuine interest in that environment.

At the end of the event, the child told an older sister that, when grown up, they wanted to be part
of a group like that, because they thought it was really cool.

That kind of scene stays with you.

As organizers, we often worry about the schedule, livestream, promotion, reception, coffee break,
agenda, speakers, and all the details that need to work for a meetup to happen. But moments like this
remind us of the true purpose of a community: to inspire people.

A strong community is not built only when experts meet.
It is also born when someone who is just starting out feels welcomed.

When a student asks their first question. When a professional finds the courage to share an experience.
When a child looks at that environment and thinks:
“one day I want to be part of this”.

Why SouJava Brasília exists

This is why SouJava Brasília exists.

Our goal is to strengthen the Java community in Brazil’s Federal District, bring professionals closer together,
create space for new talents, and build environments where knowledge, opportunity, and collaboration
can happen naturally.

Each meetup is also a learning experience for us. We learn about the topics the community wants to discuss,
about the importance of welcoming those who attend for the first time, about how to make our gatherings more
accessible, and about how to keep this movement alive beyond a programming language.

Java continues to evolve. The market continues to change. New tools, protocols, and approaches appear all the time.
But one thing remains the same: no one grows alone.

Events like this show that when people come together to share knowledge,
technology stops being just code and becomes collective construction.
